About the session

This open-door side event will bring together governments, financiers, project developers, and offtakers to discuss how green hydrogen projects in Morocco and Egypt can move from ambition to bankability. Building on recent insights from the Green Hydrogen Organization, the session will focus on key financial bottlenecks, including the lack of revenue certainty, unclear allocation of risks, and limited financing in early project stages (pre-FEED and pre-FID). The discussion will focus on stakeholder ownership: which actors are best placed to take responsibility for specific risks and what is needed to unlock coordinated action. The session aims to move beyond identifying challenges and toward defining concrete roles, contributions, and potential next steps for scaling green hydrogen investments in the region.
